Koichi Sato for Kid Robot
(This is student work and has no connection with the artist Koichi Sato or the toy company Kid Robot)
We were instructed to choose a designer of any nature and create their limited run of a collectable Kid Robot figurine. I chose the japanese poster artist Koichi Sato (find examples and reference at the bottom of the page). Creating a package for a poster artist seemed to be an interesting challenge.
When the clips are removed from the package, the structure begins to unfold. The cold sleek black package falls, revealing a rainbow gradient and a figure to match the exterior. When unfolded completely, the package becomes a colorful poster which, with included stickers, can be transformed into a poster of the user's own creation. The user may upload a photo of their photo to the Kid Robot website.
